Calling all farmers and land managers in the North Wessex Downs AONB

Henry Oliver, the Director of the North Wessex Downs AONB Team is delighted to be able to share with you the initial details of the newly announced Farming in Protected Landscapes grant programme at a webinar on Thursday 15 July 2021 at 1.30PM - 2.30PM.

The scheme will open for applications from July 2021.

The programme has been developed with the support of a group of AONB and National Park staff from across the country. It is open to all farmers and land managers within an AONB or National Park in England. Henry will set out the application process and timetable and outline the local priorities for the Farming in Protected Landscapes in the North Wessex Downs AONB.

The programme will support farmers and land managers to:
• support nature recovery
• mitigate the impacts of climate change
• provide opportunities for people to discover, enjoy and understand the landscape and its cultural heritage
• support nature-friendly, sustainable farm businesses.

Before you apply, it is recommended that you participate in or register for this webinar beforehand, which will give you a better understanding of the application process, funding priorities and tips to help you put a strong proposal together. When you have had a chance to watch this webinar and read the guidance, you can then contact and speak with the North Wessex Downs AONB team about your proposed application.
