Welcome to the North Wessex Downs Landscape Trust
This area of exceptional natural beauty stretches across parts of Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire - rolling chalk grassland, ancient woodlands, arable farmland, chalk escarpments, downland hillsides and chalk river valleys, rich in habitats, wildlife and evidence of six thousand years of cultural heritage. That heritage is alive and active today: in and around the Downs are world-famous tourist attractions, the headquarters of multinational hi-tech enterprises, busy market towns and some of England's most attractive and friendly village communities.
Our Landscape Trust works to promote awareness of these treasures, encourage their enjoyment by both local people and international travelers and secure their beauty, conservation, enhancement and productive use for future generations.
